Waypoint Church was founded in 2016 as a church plant of Ponte Vedra Presbyterian Church to serve the rapidly growing area of Nocatee and northern St. Johns County in Florida. We are a congregation in the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA).
The Presbyterian Church in America
The PCA is an evangelical denomination committed to the authority of Scripture. From its inception, the PCA has determined its purpose to be “faithful to the Scriptures, true to the Reformed faith, and obedient to the Great Commission.”
Waypoint, as a PCA Church, is also a confessional church and our beliefs are best summarized in the Westminster Confession of Faith and Catechisms (Larger and Shorter).

Statements of Faith
We believe the Bible is the written word of God, Inspired by the Holy Spirit, Inerrant (without error) in the original manuscripts. The Bible is the revelation of God’s truth and is Infallible (completely trustworthy) and authoritative in all matters of faith and practice.
We believe there is only one living and true God. We believe there are three persons in the Godhead; the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit and these three are one God, the same in substance, equal in power and glory.
We believe all people are sinners by nature, separated from God and under his curse and wrath, and totally unable to save themselves or do anything to merit salvation. It is only through the work of a redeemer (Christ) that people can have saving faith.
We believe salvation is by God’s grace alone by which God draws men to Jesus by the Holy Spirit, giving them a new nature through which they see their need of Christ, repent of their sins, and trust in the Lord Jesus as He is offered in the Gospel. Because God alone knows His sheep, the Gospel is proclaimed to all men calling them to faith and repentance.
We believe Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, without beginning or end, became man, fulfilled God’s Law, and died to atone for the Sins of His chosen people, and then rose from the dead. Jesus Christ is the only mediator between God and man.
We believe that the Holy Spirit indwells God’s people and enables them to trust Jesus and follow Him. The Holy Spirit also gives Christians that daily grace and strength they need to live a holy life that brings glory and honor to God.
We believe the church is the covenant community of God who are united by faith, who love, follow, and worship God together. This community is called to worship God and share the message of the gospel to the world.
We believe Jesus Christ, who currently rules and reigns over all of creation at the right of God the Father will return on the last day, bodily, visibly, and gloriously, to judge all men and receive His Church to himself.
The 5 Solas of the Reformation
Sola Scriptura teaches us, in the end, that all other authorities in the Christian life serve underneath Scripture, while Scripture alone rules over other authorities, for it alone is God’s inspired, inerrant, and sufficient word.
Faith is the instrument through which we receive this alien righteousness. Through faith in Christ we receive the blessed status in Christ, which God alone can give.
The work of Christ, and Christ alone, is the basis on which the ungodly are justified in God’s sight.
Our salvation is by grace alone and not the result of anything we have done.
Salvation is based solely on the free gift of God and thus He receives all the glory for our salvation.
