God or Caesar?

In our passage today we will see how the religious leaders attempt to trap Jesus with a question about both religion and politics. We’ll see how Jesus answers this question. Jesus will point out how these are not two contradictory institutions, but both are governed by God’s sovereignty. God has placed a civil government in authority over us. We can take comfort in the fact that they have been appointed by God for his purposes!
